Az uniós közbeszerzési értesítőben megjelent dokumentum szerint „a tervezési terület a Bécsi úttól a 2-es számú vasútvonal, majd Körvasút mentén a Marcheggi híddal párhuzamosan az M3-as autópálya bevezető szakaszáig tart.

Az útvonal a távlati Körvasút menti körút északi szektora. A tervezési területbe beleértendő az új körútba csatlakozó utak azon szakaszai és csomópontjai is, melyekhez elengedhetetlen beavatkozni a közlekedési hálózat működőképessége érdekében.

A tervezési feladat két munkarészre osztható: Az első az Aquincumi híd, a második a kapcsolódó úthálózat megtervezése. Mint írják: Nem városi autópálya kialakítása a cél, hanem egy városi szövetbe jól illeszkedő új gyűjtő-elosztó körút létesítése.
